Culture, Development and the Art of Change

Cultural Concerns is a small Wales-based company focusing on culture and the arts as a means of empowering individuals and communities, by organising practical projects and advising on policy development relating to participatory arts projects and grass-roots cultural activity.

Everyone can be - and can benefit from being - creative, and this applies particularly to individuals and groups who are ‘socially excluded’ or disadvantaged in some way. Cultural Concerns provides practical activities, advice, information, resources and support to community artists, funders and cultural policy-makers who want to support the development of better links between the arts, personal development and community regeneration.

The work of Cultural Concerns includes:

importing and marketing of Fair Trade arts and crafts
management of grass-roots cultural projects such as a local food market
organising community festivals and special events
managing arts-related conferences and seminars
organising international exchanges and collaborations between artists working in the community
music projects with disaffected young people
community arts teaching and training programmes
